Apparently, We Turned One

Somewhere between Europe, broken cars, family chaos, school starting, dogs trying to remove pieces of their own faces, and me asking where the hell is my mind?, I missed something.

August 11 marked one year since I put the new Building Life logo up and decided to breathe some life back into this little corner of the internet. August 13 was one year since the first new post went live.

And I completely missed it.

Which, honestly, feels appropriate.

I've spent the last year writing about building a life while actively trying to build one. Sometimes consistently. Sometimes disappearing because the life part demanded more attention than the writing-about-it part.

But people kept reading.

Some of you have been here since before the relaunch. Some found me somewhere along the way. Some comment or message me. Some apparently just lurk quietly in the bushes, which I fully support.

Thank you.

For reading the long ones. The weird ones. The vulnerable ones. The funny ones. The ones where I probably should have consulted a therapist before hitting publish.

Thank you for letting me revisit old rooms, build new ones, change my mind, contradict myself, grow in public, and occasionally wander completely off topic.

A year later, The Building Life is still exactly what I wanted it to be:

Not a finished life.

Not instructions for building one.

Just a place to document what happens while we're figuring it out.

Happy belated one-year relaunch anniversary to us.
