Sunday Sound Check 9.28.25

A couple of the songs on this list I don’t even remember listening to (lol), so I’m not sure how they landed here. But two bands I do know — Dead Eyes and Colorblind — take up serious repeat space on my playlists.

“Black Hole Heart” – Dead Eyes
The lyrics hit me because they feel like the voice of someone who desperately wants connection but keeps self-sabotaging. Past failures in love have left scars, building walls and hardening their heart until they become trapped in the gravity of their own “black hole heart.”

“God Complex” – Colorblind
If Black Hole Heart is the aftermath, God Complex feels like the foreshadowing. It paints the picture of someone who manipulates relationships, wielding power like a god and leaving destruction in their wake. What sticks with me most is how often our longing for love can keep us caught in that toxic loop — pulled between the need for connection and the harm it causes.

Pic of t with the guys from Colorblind. They were very encouraging when they heard about his company, Atticus, and so nice to take a picture with him.
